The 4 Fundamentals of Server Icons
What is a logo or an Icon? Icons are the one mostly trending right now. An icon is usually selectable but can also be a non-selectable image such as a company’s logo mostly icons are known as logos , emojis and especially roles icons on Discord.
So here are some pointers to consider when creating an icon:
1. What’s your icon’s purpose and target users?
First, identify the purpose of your icon and the target users. This will help you decide the type of imagery you want to put on your server’s design and icon.
Knowing your target user makes it easy to identify whether your icon’s quality of entertainment or its level of usability matches your user’s satisfaction such as Role Icons , Server Icon and Emojis on Discord.
2. Try to check for content or design idea
Do a research and check Google on every permutation of your icon just to make sure it’s good-looking and unique.
It will be a hassle to recognize later on that your icon has been used and trademarked by others then get rejected or banned due to copyright issues.
3. Is it clear and recognizable?
At one glance, your icon should clearly define its purpose. Just by looking at your icon’s design (its colors and the asset you pick to represent it, etc.) users should be able to recognize your community’s topic and purpose.
4. What do you think would work?
Learn your lesson from what’s already out there in the community. What do you think works so it’s both unique and attracting? You can use a simple convention of pairing the basic design of the app with a word that enhances it.
Just remember, a icon’s design sets the right tone, clearly conveys the purpose, and gives the best first impression. So give it your best shot, that’s the only way you can predict and set the future of your own logo!
